Who is Skye Symphonie?

A very long time ago, in a faraway land, when magic was still customary and where wizards, warlocks, witches, fairies, pixies, brownies, nymphs, and unicorns dwell and co-existed with humans, there lived the most charming of all maidens who had great love for costuming and crafting. She had the loveliest ebony hair, rosiest cheeks, luscious lips, delightful eyes and kindest of smiles. There was never another person who matched her in the whole of creation until I was born, except I cannot be paired to her embroidered beauty save for the love she had for creativity.

My name is Clarisa, but I go by Skye Symphonie as my Cosplay pseudonym - my alter ego, if you will. I am a native of North Borneo, Malaysia, and I live in a diminutive city called Kota Kinabalu. I have always been fascinated with costumes, furthermore, incessantly imagined myself as characters from my favourite films, cartoons and books.

I ventured into the realm of costume-playing in 2008 and developed a leisure pursuit in costuming since 2009. Cosplay enables me to relive my early childhood memories - reminiscing playing dress ups, playacting the most impossible of fantasies, while the art of costuming intensifies my creative spark. The fixation that impels me to love Cosplay is the limitless possibility of costume making. It was because of Cosplay that I decided to educate myself to sew and create things.

My Cosplay is about bringing life to the characters that I love - portraying each one the best that I can. Just knowing that I have brought happiness to the people who share mutual adoration for the characters that I represent is euphoric. I do not consider myself an expert in Cosplay as I believe that I still have much to learn, thus I am neither a professional nor a renowned Cosplay idol. I feel meekly gratified knowing that I and my costumes are appreciated.
